The Villain's Perspective
Here's something different. Instead of being the hero rushing to slay monsters, Cursed Treasure 2 puts you on the other side of the battlefield. You're a dark overlord with a pile of precious gems, and waves of ambitious heroes want to claim your treasure for themselves.
Twenty-four levels await, each one harder than the last. The premise sounds simple—keep the heroes away from your gems—but the strategy runs deeper than it first appears. You build defenses, summon creatures, and use special powers to stop the onslaught.
Getting the Hang of It
Everything uses your mouse. Click empty spots on the map to place towers, click existing towers to upgrade them, and click anywhere to trigger abilities. No keyboard shortcuts to memorize, no confusing menus to navigate. The simplicity lets you focus on what matters: outsmarting the heroes.
Three tower types make up your arsenal. Den towers spawn wolves that tear through lightly armored soldiers. Crypt towers raise skeletal archers who specialize in bringing down knights in heavy armor. Temple towers unleash holy energy that obliterates magical beings and anything flying. Each type counters specific enemies, so matching the right tower to the right threat becomes essential.
A mana pool fuels your abilities. Meteor strikes, chain lightning, and temporary power boosts all draw from this reserve. Mana slowly regenerates, but you can also collect more by eliminating enemies quickly. Timing your ability usage often determines whether you survive a wave or watch your gems get snatched away.
Advice for New Overlords
Before you start building, look at the terrain. Towers work best when placed at narrow passages where enemies have nowhere to go but through your defenses. Scattering towers across open areas wastes their potential.
Hold onto some gold for emergencies. Building one solid tower beats placing three weak ones. You can always expand between waves once you've got a stable income flowing in.
Watch the enemy preview before each wave starts. The game tells you what's coming next, so you can adjust your setup accordingly. Sending wolves against armored knights wastes resources and leaves you vulnerable.
Concentrate your upgrades on a few towers rather than spreading improvements thin. A fully upgraded tower dealing bonus damage will outperform three partially upgraded ones every time.
Cursed Treasure 2 rewards careful planning and quick adaptation. Once the mechanics click, you'll find yourself clearing levels you previously thought were impossible.
